Summer Camps

The Virtual Ventures summer camp programs focus on computer technology and engineering.

Virtual Ventures camps run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, with an extended care option which allows drop off as early as 8:00am and pickup as late as 5:00pm. There is an additional fee for our extended programs. On Fridays we host Parent and Guardian tours of the camp from 3:00-3:45pm.

Virtual Ventures offers a range of summer programs for participants who have completed grades 1 through 10. We have two sets of summer camps: the regular (co-ed) camps, and our specialty camps. The specialty camps for 2012 are Girls@VV Jr and Sr (two all-girls program), Game & Web Design and Connections @VV (aboriginal youth camp). All of these programs are divided up by age group.

All of our camps run for one week periods. Lunch and snacks are not included in the camp fee (a bagged lunch is required). Our lunch period and recess/snack periods are spent outside (weather permitting). We also often do activities outside whenever possible (i.e. paper airplanes, pop bottle rockets, chemistry demonstrations).

For camp dates and availability please check the Availability Section.

Specialty Camps

Girls@VV Having Fun!

Girls@VV Jr - for any girl who
has just completed grades 3-5

To help respond to the high demand for our all girls programs, we have instituted a Jr and Sr division in our Girls programs! This way, our camps will be sure to be with other girls their age, making it easier to make friends and have a great time at camp. The Girls@VV Jr program offers a fun and interactive way for young girls to learn about and enjoy computers and technology through a week long day camp (note that our JR girls will not be participating in the sleep-over). They will get to learn about graphic design, make websites, participate in exciting engineering challenges, and gain confidence and leadership skills. This program focuses on fostering female involvement in science, technology, engineering, and life! Mentors and role models play an important role in showing our girls how important their participation can be. This life-changing camp is not to be missed!

The Girls@VV Sr program offers a fun and interactive way for young women to learn about computer science and engineering. This camp extends beyond the normal week-long day camp by having a sleep-over on Thursday. Thursday dinner and Friday breakfast are included, along with accommodations. This extra night allows our Sr Girls to bond with each other, and gain an even deeper understanding of the subjects of computer science and engineering. Experience university life, have fun, learn about important subjects, and make new friends! Like our Jr camp, mentors and role models play an important role in building confidence and showing these girls just how important their participation is.
